Edmund Tijerina: Local food pantry stands to get assistance from far and near

One local food pantry is asking for help from people here — and getting some matching funds from Rhode Island.
The story begins with a philanthropist in the nation's smallest state who has an incredibly big heart. Alan Shawn Feinstein and his Feinstein Foundation pledge to match funds for organizations that fight hunger.


His foundation will match funds donated between March 1 and April 30. The participating organizations just need to provide the correct documentation.

Locally, Our Lord's Table at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and School is participating. The church and organization are on the East Side in the Government Hill neighborhood.
